Open to currently enrolled Stand Up and Speak Competitive Program students only. Free registration for SUAS 2026–27 Competitive Program students in Grades 7–12. REGISTRATION ONLY — ESSAY SUBMISSION CONTEST. No in-person or online attendance is required. Register by November 14, 2026 at 11:59 pm Toronto time. The “Starts” date and “Upcoming Sessions” panel below mark the registration deadline only. They are not a class, attendance session or essay submission appointment. Develop your ideas and strengthen your writing through the 2026–27 Optimist Essay Contest with Stand Up and Speak. This opportunity invites students in grades 7–12 to reflect on how they find and express their own voice. Essay topic “Finding my voice in a world full of noise” Who can participate Currently enrolled SUAS 2026–27 Competitive Program students in grades 7–12 only. What to prepare Write an essay of at least 700 words and no more than 800 words on the contest topic. Build a clear central idea, organise your paragraphs and choose examples that support your message. Leave time to revise for clarity, flow, spelling and grammar. Ask SUAS for the applicable entry requirements before preparing your final submission. Important dates January 8, 2027: Deadline for essay review and editing.
