Bring the same words to life in your own way. The Stand Up and Speak Same Speech Contest gives students in all grades an opportunity to develop confidence, expression and a stronger connection with an audience.
What the contest involves
Every participant presents the same speech. With the words held constant, the focus is on delivery: how you use your voice, expression, body language and emotion to make the message your own. Judges consider the speaker's delivery, audience connection and stage presence.
Who can participate
Currently enrolled SUAS 2026–27 Competitive Program students in all grades only.
Date and format
Saturday, December 5, 2026, 2:00–5:00 pm Toronto time (Eastern Standard Time, EST).
In person at 2295 Dunwin Drive, Unit 4.
How to prepare
Practise the assigned speech aloud. Explore meaningful pauses, changes in pace and tone, eye contact and purposeful gestures. Aim to communicate the meaning of the words naturally rather than simply reciting them. Contact SUAS for the assigned speech and arrival details before the event.
